Which Way Up?

Happy Birthday PushMore! Today is PushMore's 2nd Anniversary, hence the double workout! :) Enjoy!



Workout A

In 12 minutes, complete as many rounds as possible of:
3 Handstand Push Ups
6 Wall Balls @ 10kg/5kg
5 Burpees

Rest 6 minutes, then:-

Workout B
In 12 minutes, complete as many rounds as possible of:
3 Muscle Ups
6 Deadlifts @ 100kg
5 Box Jumps @ 24"

Result: Workout A (10R + 2)
           Workout B (3R +6,6) (Jumping MU, DL @ 60kg)



Was a darn good workout! BOTH of them!

Workout A was very shoulder based! After the burpees, the HSPUs just felt lousy! Once inverted, the shoulders couldn't support the weight whilst the elbows and palms were trying hard to just "tahan"! Wall balls was alright, bit of a cardio factor, but think the best part was the burpees-HSPUs. :) Love the challenge there!

Workout B : I knew I would struggle with this one! Jumping MUs were my challenge! I tried beforehand to get a MU but still couldn't. (It's ok, lets do it again and again till we nail the MU :) ) .  Deadlifts were alright. Had a 120% BW component there. and did 24" Jumps! Yes! I did it! Still getting over my phobia of falling over, or scraping my shins, thighs. Been there, done that, let's not repeat that!



Over it is!

Skinned the cat!


Looking forward to some gymnastics after this :)

Jumping MUs!

20mins AMRAP of:
5 Jumping MUs
10 Russian Twists (12kg)
15 Double Unders

Result: 7R + 2.


Thought of doing 8Rs but my scab on right upper arm (that was previously scraped from the JMUs) got scraped again and started bleeding! Need to arm myself with plasters now! Reminder to self: Use blue "useless" finger tape before getting onto rings! The scab is NOT WORTH rescarring! But other than that, the Russian Twists were slightly challenging because of the weight. Double unders were just complementary. Easy peasy!

Ok Mohawk, lets see what you've got!

My FIRST Muscle Up!!!

I DID IT! I DID IT!!

My first ever muscle up in my whole life! Finally!

I had been trying for many weeks - the kipping & transition part. Each time, the kipping was not high enough or not strong enough in order for the shoulders to come over the rings. My forearms just couldn't take it. My wrist would just complain of tiredness and scraping on the rings. So I started with assisted muscle ups (knees on floor) and pulling my body over the rings.

Then, it was jumping pull ups where the rings were at chin level. All I needed to do was spring up into the dip position and push up into full extensions in the elbows so that the rings are just below the hips.

Today I just decided to try again...failed in the morning...and a couple of times in the evening... and finally at about 9:30pm...I did it!

Everything was in place (except the elbows) - grips, kip, energy, height and drive.

I struggled to press into full extensions but somehow, I made it!!! The guys who were there that night - Shen, Desiree, Edmund, Ben Y and a couple more members - heard me yell "UP.. UPP..UUPPPPPPPP!!!!!" Just too bad that there were no photos/videos to support my hard work...


Well, this is the first, of many to come! I will continue to strive further and improve myself!
YAY!!! I AM HAPPY!
